Câu trả lời mẫu:

How many hours do you usually sleep at night?

=> Typically, I aim to get around 7 to 8 hours of sleep at night. I find that this amount of sleep allows me to feel refreshed and rejuvenated the next day, ready to tackle whatever tasks or challenges come my way.

Do you sometimes sleep during the day? [Why/Why not?]

=>  I generally try to avoid sleeping during the day unless I'm feeling particularly fatigued or if I've had a restless night's sleep. I prefer to maintain a consistent sleep schedule to ensure quality rest at night. However, if I do take a nap during the day, it's usually for no more than 20-30 minutes to avoid disrupting my nighttime sleep pattern.

What do you do if you can’t get to sleep at night? [Why?]

=>  If I find myself struggling to fall asleep at night, I usually try to engage in calming activities to help me relax. This might involve reading a book, practicing deep breathing exercises, or listening to soothing music. I avoid using electronic devices or engaging in stimulating activities, as they can interfere with my ability to unwind and fall asleep.

Do you ever remember the dreams you’ve had while you were asleep?

=> Yes, I do remember some of the dreams I've had while asleep, although not always in great detail. I find that dreams can be fascinating and sometimes reflect my subconscious thoughts or emotions. Occasionally, I'll jot down particularly vivid dreams in a dream journal to reflect on later.

Câu trả lời mẫu 1:

The individual I grew close to and developed a strong friendship with is named Mia. We first met during a study abroad program in Amsterdam, Netherlands, approximately four years ago. It was during our orientation week, and we were both assigned to the same group for a city tour.

When I initially met Mia, I was struck by her outgoing and adventurous spirit. She exuded confidence and enthusiasm as she eagerly explored the streets of Amsterdam with our group. Despite being in a new and unfamiliar environment,Mia’s positive energy was infectious, and I immediately felt drawn to her

As our study abroad experience progressed, Mia and I discovered that we shared many similar interests and passions. We both had a love for travel, culture, and trying new experiences. Whether it was sampling local cuisine at a tapas bar or exploring historic landmarks together, we always found common ground and enjoyed each other's company.

What truly cemented our friendship was our ability to support and empower each other.Mia was always there to offer a listening ear and provide encouragement during moments of doubt or homesickness. Likewise, I was there to celebrate her accomplishments and cheer her on as she pursued her goals and aspirations.

Our friendship blossomed because of our shared experiences, mutual respect, and genuine connection. Mia's zest for life and adventurous spirit enriched my study abroad experience in ways I never imagined, and I am grateful to have her as a friend.

Câu trả lời mẫu 2:

The person I formed a strong friendship with is my college roommate, Emily. We met for the first time during our freshman year orientation at university. It was a bustling campus event, and we were randomly assigned to share a dorm room.

Upon first meeting Emily, I was immediately struck by her outgoing and bubbly personality. She greeted me with a warm smile and an infectious enthusiasm for starting this new chapter of our lives together. Despite the initial nerves of meeting a new roommate, I felt an instant connection with her.

As we settled into our shared living space, I quickly realized that Emily and I had many common interests and values. We both had a passion for music, spending countless hours jamming out to our favorite songs and attending concerts together. Additionally, we shared similar academic pursuits and often collaborated on projects and study sessions.

What truly solidified our friendship was our mutual respect and understanding of each other's strengths and weaknesses. We supported each other through the challenges of college life, offering a shoulder to lean on during stressful times and celebrating each other's achievements.

Our friendship flourished because we embraced each other's differences and learned from one another. Emily's outgoing nature pushed me out of my comfort zone, encouraging me to try new experiences and make the most out of my college years. In return, I provided a sense of stability and support during moments of uncertainty.

Overall, I believe we became good friends because of our shared experiences, mutual respect, and genuine care for each other's well-being. Emily has become like a sister to me, and I cherish the memories we've created together during our time at university.

PART 3: Friends at school/Making new friends

Discussion topics:

Friends at school

Example questions:

How important is it for children to have lots of friends at school?

=>  The significance of having many friends at school for children can vary depending on individual personalities and social dynamics. While having a wide circle of friends can provide children with opportunities for social interaction, support, and a sense of belonging, the quality of friendships is often more crucial than the quantity. Meaningful friendships built on trust, empathy, and shared interests can have a more significant impact on a child's well-being and development than simply having a large number of acquaintances.

Do you think it is wrong for parents to influence which friends their children have?

=>  As for parental influence on children's friendships, it's essential for parents to strike a balance between guiding their children and allowing them to make their own choices. While it's natural for parents to want the best for their children and offer guidance on social interactions, overly controlling their friendships can hinder the development of autonomy and decision-making skills. Instead, parents can encourage open communication, teach empathy and respect for others, and provide guidance on how to navigate peer relationships in a positive and constructive manner.

Why do you think children often choose different friends as they get older?

=> Children often choose different friends as they get older due to various factors, including changing interests, evolving social dynamics, and personal growth. As children mature, they may develop new hobbies, interests, and values that align more closely with those of different peer groups. Additionally, as they navigate through different stages of development, they may seek out friendships that offer support and understanding that resonate with their evolving identities and experiences. These shifts in friendship dynamics are natural and can contribute to children's social and emotional development as they learn to navigate diverse social environments and form meaningful connections with others.

Making new friends

Example questions:

If a person is moving to a new town, what is a good way for them to make friends?

=> When moving to a new town, one effective way to make friends is to actively engage in community activities and events. Joining local clubs, sports teams, hobby groups, or volunteering for community organizations can provide opportunities to meet people with similar interests and values. Additionally, attending social gatherings, neighborhood events, or local meetups can help individuals connect with others in their new community. Being open, approachable, and initiating conversations with neighbors, coworkers, or fellow attendees can facilitate the process of making new friends.

Can you think of any disadvantages of making new friends online?

=>  As for making new friends online, while it offers convenience and accessibility, there are potential disadvantages to consider. One drawback is the lack of face-to-face interaction, which can make it challenging to gauge the authenticity and trustworthiness of online connections. Additionally, online friendships may lack the depth and intimacy of offline relationships, as communication primarily occurs through digital platforms. Moreover, there is a risk of encountering deceptive individuals or falling victim to online scams or fraud, highlighting the importance of exercising caution and discretion when forming friendships online.

Would you say it is harder for people to make new friends as they get older?

=>  Regarding whether it's harder for people to make new friends as they get older, it can indeed be perceived as more challenging due to various factors. As individuals age, they may have fewer opportunities for social interaction, particularly if they have retired, relocated, or experienced significant life changes. Additionally, established social networks and obligations, such as work, family, and other commitments, may limit the time and energy available for cultivating new friendships. However, with effort and willingness to step out of one's comfort zone, people of all ages can still forge meaningful connections and develop new friendships by actively seeking out social opportunities, participating in community activities, and maintaining an open-minded and approachable attitude towards meeting new people.
